Does my NOMAD have Lights?
Yes, your NOMAD electric bike has both front and rear LED lights, and using both LED lights consumes just 500m of range per 100km.

Activating the lights is simple, with the press of a button on your LCD display, both lights turn ON, and your NOMAD will automatically power off if you stop riding for 15 minutes.

How Do I Maximise My NOMAD’s Range?

Getting the most out of your NOMAD e-bike‘s battery requires smart riding and properly understanding which method of motor activation to use.

(1) Pedal Assist (PAS):
The NOMAD features 9 levels of Pedal Assist (PAS 0–9). Lower levels (PAS 1–3) consume less battery power and are ideal for flat terrain or when you want to conserve energy and achieve a state of 60 km range. Reserve higher levels (PAS 6–9) for hills, headwinds, or when you need an extra boost, which could drop your range to 40 km. Alternating between PAS modes enables most rides to achieve 50 km of range

(2) Throttle Use:
The 20km/h thumb throttle is perfect for quick starts or giving your knees a break, but relying on it exclusively will drain the battery faster. For longer rides, combine light throttle use with pedal assist to balance comfort and range. The 40km range is based on flat terrain and may decrease depending on conditions (headwinds) and rider input (pedalling). To get the most out of your adventure, explore NOMAD with throttle and pedal assist, which ensures a smooth and energy-efficient ride.

(3) Gear Down Before Hills:
Shifting to a lower gear before reaching an incline helps reduce strain on both the motor and your legs. You may notice the battery bar dips during hill climbs — this is normal and will return to an accurate reading once the load on the battery decreases.

Can I Ride the NOMAD in the Wet?

If you’re happy to ride in the rain, so is your NOMAD.

The NOMAD electric bike is built to handle everyday riding conditions, including light rain and wet paths.
While it’s designed with durability in mind, it’s important to understand a few best practices when it comes to water exposure.

Water Ingress:
Accidents can happen.
If your NOMAD takes a tumble, be sure to check for any visible damage — especially around the LCD display, wiring harness, or battery housing. Cracks or tears can become entry points for moisture. If you notice anything unusual, have your bike inspected by an authorised NOMAD retailer to prevent long-term damage and to keep your warranty protected.

If you’ve run out of space in your car and plan to transport your NOMAD e-bike on an external bike rack, we recommend using a BBQ cover or similar protective wrap to limit exposure to high-speed rain and dust.

While NOMAD bikes are engineered to handle water and dust at typical cycling speeds, it’s not designed for constant exposure to the elements at 110km/h down the Nullarbor. A little extra protection goes a long way in keeping your e-Bike safe.

Safe Cleaning Tips:
Avoid high-pressure hoses, especially around electrical components like the motor, LCD screen, and battery. Instead, wipe down your bike with a damp cloth, using a soft brush for tougher grime. If using a hose, keep the pressure low and avoid spraying directly at sensitive areas. Always dry your NOMAD thoroughly after cleaning to avoid moisture buildup. With proper care, your NOMAD will continue to perform reliably — rain or shine.
